Social Web Search Using P2P Architecture

In a way, P2P which Napster popularised is a very basic form of social networking from an user’s perspective. P2P has its own legal issues in certain industries. Many startups are attempting to dethrone Google in the search game. Multiple approaches like Natural search, Human powered search, Live search without any index, vertical search & others are not making much headway. New German startup Faroo is trying it’s chance in search battle with a Peer-to-Peer approach. Their success would depend on gaining quick high usage which is very instrumental in independent user contributed search index. Is technology an answer to acquire search mind share? Mixing of social web with search might give Faroo a good chance inspite of the limitations.
